After a deluge of
torrential rain
lasting for most of
the day - just at
the time we expected
people to start
arriving the rain
stopped!
There was a a
show of military
vehicles and many
people were dressed
in forties dress -
perfect for the
forties theme.
A hog roast was also
on offer as well as
the former
(makeshift) barn bar
being open for
refreshments.
(The
barn was used as the
main bar when a fire
gutted the main
building) |
The
Main crowd puller was the
"John Wood" Big Band, only
their second ever public
performance but proving to
be a great success.
Not surprising really when
you consider the talent
which makes up this group of
individuals! The future is
bright for this exceptional
band, they are most
definitely destined for big
things with their ever
expanding repertoire of
standards as well as some
tunes which you wouldn't
expect.
Crowd participation is
unavoidable due to the
nature of the music and
atmosphere.
