So, Here's where we start.
After trying so called 'Normal Jobs' as an Electrician and then a Welder I soon realised I had to do something for myself..
Oh, also when I was 16 I worked for a petrol station at £1 an hour - LOL, but it was life experience I suppose.
I started my DJ life helping a chap who had been doing this for a few years, he was a nice enough chap but some what un-reliable and as a result I was called upon a few times to take over from him which did me good.
I said earlier that I was a Welder - Well, one HOT summer I decided that I didn't want to continue with that and left, just like that.. I immediately went to work as a waiter at the same place my DJ friend was working somewhere in Norfolk.
Times were good then - we shared a caravan, awoke early to serve others (Well, I did anyway).
We had a good season until one evening the police turned up in the night - got me out of the little aluminium caravan accusing me of racing around the site in my car at unspeakable hours, I was placed in a cell for the night and promptly allowed to leave at 06:00 with no charge - well, there WAS no charge as I had no idea what they were talking about!!
It later transpired that I upset a female worker of the establishment as I declined her advances - oh well, never mind.. flaming kids will play etc.
So, this was to lead to a brand new era for me as I decided to go for an audition for Pontins in Birmingham (the auditions were there, not the site).
I was taken on as a Bluecoat DJ - Great I thought, Well it was good for me as I would then go onto meet many really good people and earn some great money.. We got food, lodgings and £65 a week for roughly a 16 hour day - 7 days a week.
I ended up at a place in Heysham, Nr Morcambe - It was called 'Middleton Towers' but has since been demolished and turned into flats.. Probably just as well as they say that place was used as a POW camp during the war.

Behind us there is the SS Berengaria, it was the main entertainment area of the place, and haunted by all accounts.
I HATE football as many will know - one of my jobs at this place was to teach kids to play the game and this started at 09:45 one day a week - I didn't finish work each night until 01:00 and then I couldn't just go to sleep as I had to unwind so as you can imagine I didnt't sleep, much like today.. Sleep is something I haven never had much of damn it :(
After almost a season I had enough of this and left, at that time I went back to stay with my father which was fine - Life was good.
Let's not think that I just decide suddenly and leave places - there are always many reasons for my actions, I am not the kind of person to just go..
I now find myself in the early 90's, now an experienced compare if not a DJ as such so I do have something different to offer - there was NO WAY I was going to get myself stuck in a rut again and become a 'Wage Slave' so I went so see an entertainments agency..

The first agency I used weren't too good - they gave me bad jobs so I went looking for another agent, Success as I found 'Three Beat Street Entertainments' who were the real deal.
I became their No1 DJ very quickly and went onto work some great places.
During those years I also worked some nice places around Norwich, I had a regular night at Scottow Barns (Strictly Rhythm with Nik Grey) every Thursday - I was in the Louis Marchesi before I got the Scottow gig and I still worked the Loui's associated Nightclub (Le Valbon) on Prince of Wales Road.
I worked many places around Norwich over those years inc Manhattans & The Belmonte.
At this time I was then living in Norwich with a less than desirable woman, I was unhappy - she was Dire.. arghh - when I think of those times I still cringe.
So, one day I got a call from a chap in Corfu - he had seen me working in Norwich somewhere and somehow got my number, he suggested I goto Corfu to work with him and was willing to give me a week to make up my mind.
It took me a few minutes to decide (I didnt want to call Greece back as I am tight) - I was off, I made up my mind to go.
My mother bought me the air ticket which was helpful to say the least - I think she could see that I was unhappy where I was at the time, it turned out to be the last time I would ever see her as she died soon after.. I remember getting the news when I was in Greece - I still worked that night to keep my mind off of things.
