Quite simply anybody who wants to do anything commercial online will need a Domain Name, at very least even if you do not promote anything online or at the moment are not even considering getting into the new way to do business you should at the very least secure your name as a domain.

Every domain must be unique, once your name has gone you will never be able to use it for yourself unless the current owner decided to give it up and allow it to be offered for sale again - thats a risk not worth taking in my opinion.

As an example, I once had almost 200 domain's for various purposes but the one I will never let go is my name.com: NikGrey.com, you just never know when you will find a use for this essential tool.

I have, in the early years of my online pursuits used various domain name providers, some are very expensive and some are just far too complicated and unreliable - when I say 'Unreliable' I am mean that sometimes the domain is not working which is a 'No No'.

Domains are simple to set up with 123 reg, and they are cheap - it's never the price that gets in the way when dealing with domains, the problem is and will always be 'IF' you can get the exact domain you require.

You can then point that domain with 123 reg to another host, so for example I use 123 reg to manage my domains but use another hosting service to manage my websites.

Have a look now and see if your name is still available, I may even go as far as to suggest buying any domains you can find that fit your children's names for future use - this is a gift that cannot be replaced if you are lucky enough to get your hands on the perfect domain.
