Parts

As shown in the first post the electronic cigarette is made up of parts - it is 'Modular' which means you can replace these parts as and when required.

The model I have is made up of:

Battery

Atomiser (Atty)

Liquid cart (cart)

There is a charger also for the battery.

There are Two types of batteries as you can see in the image below - the one with the button is a manual one and the one without is the automatic version. With the manual when you want to take a puff you push the button which heats up the atty in order to vaporise the liquid and give you a lung full of warn and very nice tasting vapour.

I prefer this type as you have more control over the amount of vapour.

With the automatic version all you need to do is take a puff and a sensor in the battery will sense this and heat the atty on demand, this is a plus to this type as well as a minus.

The Plus is that you can use this 'Hands Free' which is great when you are typing as I am now, or you need your hands/fingers for other tasks.

The Minus is that you have to take a small 'Primer' puff to start the heating of the element before taking the proper puff - you will get used to this very quickly, in-fact I think I mastered every aspect within a few hours.

ecig parts

The atomiser is basically a piece of wire wrapped around a 'Wick' that soaks up the liquid. It is said that these parts can only last One month, we will see but you can tell when they are getting old by testing the resistance of the heating element.

I can think these atty's and the rest of the parts of the device are made by hand so will vary by batch, when I first got my starter pack I measured the resistance of the atty's and they were both 2.2 ohms - I will continue to measure this as time goes on and report here.

I did buy another eCig a few days later which was black - measuring the resistance of this atty showed that it started off at 3.4 ohm which proves the batch theory.

The batteries are supposed to remain good for 200 charges before they start to hold less charge (and need charging more frequently) - it is said that a charge will provide power for 180 puffs but I am not going to even try to prove this

Prices of parts vary widely as you go from supplier to supplier but roughly it goes like this:

Battery: £5 or less if you use my links.

Atty: £19 for 5 using my links.

The cheapest starter pack at the moment is available from HERE (This is my own domain and I will point to different suppliers if I find their product better value)
