So we held the reunion @ the Dog House in their 'Kennel Bar' on May 2nd 2009. It had been said that nobody had arranged an event of this type before - or at least not a good one so I took it upon myself to organise an event that would be at least memorable.
I scowered Norwich looking for a venue, there are many to choose from but we had to have a place that was befitting our age group, this meant not too many stairs and easy access to the facilities as we are all 'Getting on a Bit'.
This was for the Sprowston High School Class of 86 (That's 1986) but as you can see from the image we did allow other years to attend - this was because we all had many friends who were not in the same year as us.. Well to be honest the reason behind that descision was the terms set by the venue.

I had to put down a deposit and if I hadn't enough people in at certain times I would have lost that deposit so I was keen to ensure that we did indeed meet their requirements, in-fact on the night we far exceeded their minimum atendee numbers as you can see from the images.

On the right is an image of me from my School Days, as you can see I was young once! so you don't have to believe people who say I wasn't.. LOL.
So back to the event, I created a facebook group for this gathering as I realised that this was the fastest and most economical way of getting enough peoples attention in a short space of time.
One of the reasons for this was my absence for 8 years when I lived in Corfu - I had lost touch with most people since leaving school and needed a way of getting them back into my life fast - this worked and was popular.

As you can see from the images at the top we had a great turn out with some familliar faces joining us on the night.
Entertainment was a MUST so I had to do something that would help former school friends as well as have something that would work well, I contacted Steve Harris who is still working as DJ who kindly agreed to take the job - well, I say 'Job' all I could give him was his 'Expenses' but everything in that department went very well.
Great job Steve and I thank you still to this day for the selfless gesture.
He put his personalised pens and other advertising for his business out on the night as did I as you can see from the flyers on the walls around the venue - well, "opportunity is never missed, Just seen by somebody else" (Can't remember who's quote that is bit it is appropriate in this life.
Thanks to everybody who helped me put this together, attended and shared the event to their Facebook friends.
Let's all re-double our efforts to stay in-touch and never lose contact again, we all only live once.
